Building a Successful Private Practice
With Bibiana Badenes and Ellen Barlow
Learning Objectives:
Learn about a range of criteria that contribute to success;
Reflect on what is working well for you and what your growing edges are;
Address: how to move towards greater success?
Description: These two ISMETA Board Members will share their personal histories of building a private practice, and identify a range of criteria as a template for this session. Crucial factors such as the scope of practice you are most qualified for and how you best fit into your community/culture, aspects of your work that bring you the greatest happiness/satisfaction, the financial remuneration necessary for your needs, how you communicate about your practice with students/clients and colleagues, how you craft the “message” of your marketing for the population you intend to reach, etc. Participants will then be invited to reflect on their own definitions of success, and what aspects of the criteria can further their goals.
