DESCRIPTION:
This workshop series features guided experiential somatic movement practices as well as viewing of The Moving Child Films I, II and III. Engage your body-mind-spirit in neuro-developmental restorative and sequential movement practices that can be integrated into any somatic movement practice. Learn from other ISMETA registered somatic movement practitioners featured in the films who are applying innovative somatic movement with children, youth and adults, specifically from the Laban/Bartenieff and BMC lineages (including Dr. Martha Eddy, Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, Mariko Tanabe, Janet Kaylo, and Dr. Annie Brook for example).You will expand your knowledge of developmental dynamic movement and how its easeful expression and integration can be supported in child and adult bodies through many different attuned, playful ways of moving.
LEARNING GOALS:
In this workshop series, you will:
1) Understand more deeply the importance and practice of developmental and dynamic movement in development.
2) Practice skills and techniques to support experiences of dynamic movement.
3) Expand your movement observation experience and knowledge.

Hana Kamea Kemble, MA, RSMT, is a Registered Somatic Movement Therapist, Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist, Somatic Psychotherapist, Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analyst and movement teacher, who has been working with all ages of clients and students for 3 decades in the field of movement education and therapy. Hana created and produced The Moving Child Films I, II and III as a resource for teaching about the relationship between movement and human development; focusing on why movement matters in all aspects of relational/social, physical and cognitive growth. She also directs a 250 hour ISMETA accredited training program called Expressive Movement Facilitation at The Movement Arc: Somatic Education and Therapy Centre, based in BC.
