This package consists of three hourlong videos created from conversations with some of the most respected elders in our field. The recordings highlight the lives and primary influences on the development of their somatic movement practices.

Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen
MSME/T, Developer of Body-Mind Centering®
Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen is a movement artist, researcher, educator, therapist and developer of the Body-Mind Centering® approach to movement and consciousness. Body-Mind Centering® is an exploration of how we embody our body systems, tissues and cells as well as our developmental movement patterns and embryological development. In 1973, Bonnie founded The School for Body-Mind Centering®. She is also one of the founders of ISMETA. Her work has influenced the fields of dance, bodywork, yoga, body psychotherapy, infant and child development and many other body-mind disciplines. Bonnie is the author of the books, Sensing, Feeling, and Action, Basic Neurocellular Patterns: Exploring Developmental Movement, and The Mechanics of Vocal Expression, as well as numerous videos on embodied anatomy, cellular consciousness, dance, embryology, and working with children with special needs. Eleanor Criswell-Hanna
MSME/T, PhD
Eleanor Criswell Hanna, EdD, C-IAYT, MSME/T was an emeritus psychology professor at Sonoma State University (1969-2009) and founding director of the Humanistic Psychology Institute (now Saybrook University). She was on Meridian University's faculty and Board of Directors, and a Fellow of the American Psychological Association. As Director of the Novato Institute for Somatic Research and Training (1990-2024), she conducted trainings in Hanna Somatic Education, Somatic Yoga, Equine Hanna Somatics, and Canine Hanna Somatics. Former president of the Association for Humanistic Psychology, the International Association for Yoga Therapists, and the Somatics Society (1990-2021), she was a licensed psychologist, IAYT Certified Yoga Therapist, BCIA certified biofeedback practitioner, and member of ISMETA.
Paul Linden
MSME, PhD, Developer of Being In Movement®
Paul Linden is a body awareness educator, a martial artist, and an author. He is the developer of Being In Movement® mindbody education, and founder of the Columbus Center for Movement Studies in Columbus, Ohio USA. He holds a BA in Philosophy and a PhD in Physical Education. He has been practicing and teaching Aikido since 1969 and holds a sixth-degree black belt in Aikido as well as a first-degree black belt in Karate. He is an instructor of the Feldenkrais Method® of somatic education. He has extensive experience teaching people such as musicians, athletes, businesspeople, computer users, pregnant women, adult survivors of child abuse, and children with attention deficit disorder. His work has focused on trauma recovery and peacemaking. Paul has taught many workshops in places from Germany and England, to Russia and Ireland, to Israel and to Ecuador. Sondra Fraleigh
RSMT, MS, Founding Director of EastWest Somatics
Sondra Fraleigh, Eastwest Director, Professor of Dance Emeritus and Fulbright Scholar, is an international leader in dance, yoga, and somatic healing arts. She Is a Registered Feldenkrais® teacher and Registered Somatic Movement Educator and Therapist. Sondra is RYT-1000 registered yoga teacher with more than 1000 hours of training and teaching. Through her institute, she offers registration with Yoga Alliance. She has been a professor of dance and somatics for more than 40 years, now retired from the Department of Dance at the State University of New York at Brockport. Sondra continues to teach through her institute and is a mentor to dancers and somatic practitioners in the USA, Europe, Japan, Mexico and India. Larry Goldfarb has maintained a private Feldenkrais practice for 40 years, during which time he has also taught public classes and workshops, professional seminars, teacher training, and postgraduate programs. Daria Halprin

Daria Halprin, a dancer, poet, teacher, and author, is among the leading pioneers in the field of movement/dance and expressive arts education and therapy. Her work bridges the fields of somatic psychology, movement/dance therapy, expressive arts therapy, community-based arts and health education, organizational consultancy, leadership development, social change and performance. Bringing a life-long practice in the arts to her work, published writings include: Coming Alive; The Expressive Body in Life, Art and Therapy; contributing author Expressive Arts Therapy: Principles and Practices, Poesis: Essays on the Future of the Field; Body Ensouled, Enacted and Entranced. Patricia Bardi
MSMT, Creator of Voice Movement Integration
Patricia Bardi is a bodywork specialist, educator, licensed natural health practitioner and a Registered Somatic Movement Therapist (ISMETA). For more than 40 years, she teaches internationally and maintains a private practice working with children and adults in Amsterdam. Patricia is the director of the VMI Somatic Practice Certification Program, a professional training she founded more than 35 years ago. The program is professionally accredited by ISMETA. She has developed and taught Organ Rebalancing, an advanced bodywork training for professional healthcare practitioners and manual therapists at numerous holistic health institutes including Dr. Rudolf Merkel M.D.’s School for CranialSacral Osteopathy in Zurich. Mariko Tanabe is inspired by the healing powers of human movement and expression. She has been performing her works during the past 30 years in Japan, Mexico, Germany, Austria, Portugal, Sweden, Czech Republic, Poland, France, Italy, Malaysia, Canada and in several cities in the United States. She has taught at various festivals, universities and dance companies internationally. She has been Artist-in-Residence at Le Gesu/Centre de Creativite (Montreal) where she performs and collaborates in several events each year. She trained with Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen – the founder of Body-Mind Centering® (BMC®) and is a Certified Practitioner and Teacher of BMC®, a BMC® Yoga Teacher and Infant Developmental Movement Educator. Alice Cummins
MSME/T, Founder and Director of Somatic Wisdom
Alice is a dance artist, Body-Mind Centering® Practitioner and Master Somatic Movement Educator & Therapist (ISMETA). Based in Perth, she is a master teacher offering independent workshops throughout Australia. She has collaborated with musicians, writers, visual artists and filmmakers. Her solo work has been performed at PICA (Perth Institute of Performing Arts); Performance Space, Sydney; Dancehouse, Melbourne and RoseAnne Spradlin Studio, NYC. Alice has a 30-year history of creating improvisational performances and a commitment and love of this compositional form. Her work is influenced by Body-Mind Centering®, new dance practices and feminist philosophy. She has a Master of Arts from Victoria University and has been researching different modes and realizations of the body and performance over many years, often outside of institutions and the traditional places for the transference of performance knowledge.
