A Place for Collective Wisdom
Live online conversations to deepen understanding through sharing of knowledge and insight as Somatic Movement Practitioners.
Join us in our virtual gathering place to stay engaged, learn something new or simply connect with colleagues. We have been getting wonderful feedback from the Somatic Movement Educators and Therapists who have been joining us at the ISMETA Somatic Cafés. They see it as an informal place to come together to share collective wisdom and be inspired by new ideas from colleagues.
Our Cafés follow the format of beginning with a guided somatic experience designed to spark a lively conversation. Just as if we were together live, we will move into smaller groups to explore some guiding questions, before coming back once again into the full group.

Join us for an insightful Somatic Café exploring the complexities of setting fees and managing finances in a way that aligns with professional integrity and personal needs. Money matters can be challenging for somatic movement practitioners navigating the balance between ethical practice and financial sustainability.
This Somatic Café will begin with a guided reflection to help us connect with our personal values regarding money and work. Through this experience, we aim to create a space where practitioners can openly discuss their perspectives and challenges surrounding financial aspects of their practice.
Clare Maxwell will share her experience and a simple formula for determining fee scales, as well as insights into creating a holistic business plan for a profitable practice. We'll explore how equitable fees can support practitioners, clients, and our profession as a whole, addressing questions such as:
• How can we balance supporting our profession, meeting our financial needs, and ensuring client accessibility?
• What makes a good business plan in our field?
• What are the biggest business struggles faced by practitioners?
The session will include brief breakout rooms for sharing experiences and challenges with peers, with the option to discuss key points with the larger group. We invite participants to bring their questions and concerns to foster a collaborative learning environment.
We look forward to this important conversation as we work towards creating sustainable and ethical practices in the somatic movement field.
