This is a forum where members can ask questions to draw on the knowledge from the wider community, where many practitioners have decades of experience practicing, working with clients, and continuing a self-practice. The forum is a closed platform, accessible only to ISMETA Members, facilitating social and professional exchange within a group of somatic movement professionals worldwide.
To make this discussion forum a useful, safe and rewarding arena, there are guidelines to follow. These are the group rules to maintain the standards ISMETA has set for the community forums.
Building Community – Learning Together
The purpose of the group is to build community and to share reflections and questions relevant to somatic movement education, therapy and connected topics.
Posting
It is important to keep the content in this group relevant to Somatic Movement. Please refrain from NSFW (not safe for work) material and discussions of illegal activities.
Marketing
Self-promotion and marketing are not allowed in this forum. If you want to offer something for free that you think the group would benefit from you may do so. For most offers, use the ISMETA events calendar.
Communications
In this forum we communicate in a respectful and considerate manner. Please share your experiences from a Somatic point of view, first-person, embodied perspective. Avoid any down putting language. No discriminatory behaviour will be accepted.
As the forum grows, make sure to check what current threads and topics have already been posted before starting a new thread or topic. If you start a new thread, you are responsible to track the thread and make sure it keeps with the guidelines.
Forum Membership
If a member does not conduct themselves in accordance with the group guidelines, ISMETA retains the right to remove their forum access. This will only happen after a warning has been issued, a limited ban of two weeks may be instated and if an issue reoccurs the ban may be reinstated. ISMETA holds the right to revoke permanent access to the interactive community platforms for any member that is repeatedly unable to uphold the guidelines.
If you experience conduct that is not in alignment with the forum guidelines, you may send an email to the office about it. Only do this if clearly needed and include screen shots of the matter at hand.
Somatic Community
Let's be supportive, constructive contributors to this shared space. The Somatic community is overflowing with talented, creative individuals. Let's be together in the way we want others to interact with us. Extend extra kindness to new members to keep growing the community in the spirit of ISMETA and our shared values.
If you have suggestions on how to amend the group policies, please send your contribution to the office.
